Dear ECA Community,
Easthampton City Arts is thrilled to announce our 20th Anniversary Year of community arts and cultural programming in the City of Easthampton! We extend our immense gratitude to each and every one of you who has played a part in establishing our organization, volunteered as an ECA Committee & Subcommittee Member, participated as a Visual Artist, Musician, Poet, or Performer, contributed to our programming as an event attendee or volunteer, and has shared your voice and vision with us as dedicated community members!
As a municipal organization, we orient ourselves and operate in direct response and relationship to this vital and evolving community we are a part of — and we are simultaneously honored, proud, and humbled to reach this meaningful milestone, as the direct result of working and growing together. Thank you all so much!
To celebrate, we’ve got a robust lineup of public programming throughout 2025 that’s free and engaging for people of all ages — and we encourage you all to mark your calendars for all that’s to come! Oxbow Gallery’s newest exhibits ‘Seawalls: Then and Now’ and ‘Egg Tempera: Paintings and Drawings’ are now available for viewing! The artist reception is happening tomorrow (March 8, 3-6pm)🌟
Slide one features artwork from Artist Georgia Pugh and her exhibit ‘Seawalls: Then and Now‘. Georgia Pugh lives and works in Hatfield, Massachusetts. The “Seawall Series” depicts the results of high seas, storms and devastating coastal incursions brought about by climate change. The work presents sea walls, broken remnants of iron, concrete, rock and rebar built to keep water from land. Using imagery of these powerful, yet precarious forms, the artist provokes a sense of the perpetual interaction between human will and the forces of nature. Pugh’s work can be found in collections throughout the United States, including the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Philadelphia Museum, the Library of Congress, and the Boston Public Library. Her paintings and drawings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions at such venues as the Mississippi Museum, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, and at the Rockefeller Estate in Westchester County, NY. www.GeorgiaPugh.com.
Slide two features artwork from Artist Nicole Gadon @gadonnicole and her exhibit ‘Egg Tempera: Paintings and Drawings’. Nicole has considered herself an artist since the age of seven and has been working full time on her art since retiring from teaching art in 2013. Her current work is symbolic and narrative, using egg tempera and gold leaf in the manner of the 14th century Sienese painters.

Easthampton Media’s newest exhibit “Reflections”, created by Artist Lucinda Arnold, will be available for viewing March 3rd through April 30th🌟 @easthamptonmedia
“This exhibit represents my early works in abstract acrylics and pastels. Several may have begun as experiments, but they all evolved into reflections of my own mind; my wanderings amongst texture and color. All in all they became “Reflections” of my personal journey to greater self love and compassion.”

On behalf of the ECA Public Art Committee, we extend our sincere appreciation to each and every one of you who came out on Sunday for our “Have a Heart for Public Art” fundraiser brunch! It was a super special day and it was also a wonderful success!
Thanks to the ongoing generosity of Casey Douglass and the entire team at Galaxy, 100% of the proceeds will directly support a brand new community-generated mosaic mural, which we’ll begin to roll out in the months to come. It was a beautiful night for Art Walk Easthampton yesterday evening! There was so much going on in Easthampton, from exhibits and music, to markets and open studios. It was truly incredible to see the immense creativity and care of our community.🌟
